So as I mentioned before I got the NCC/WCC position for 2011-2012. For those of you who don't know what that is I will try to explain. I will be on the RHAA, or residence hall and apartment association, executive board. Which involves me holding office hours, being available for others, attending weekly meetings, and some other tasks. I also get paid for this position! I am super excited! So the NCC/WCC position involves me taking people on conferences. You may ask what a conference involves, so I will tell you. When a person goes to a conference a ton of preparation goes into it. We have to create a role call, banner, display, and then spirit items! Some items like clothespins, t-shirts, and other cool items. And at these conferences, as a delegate you go to programs. Hopefully in return you bring programs back to campus that you enjoyed! The delegates go to the programs, but I will go to board room. In board room I vote for different awards and things like that! I basically take the people on the conferences and represent Green Bay. We will attend regional, state, and national conferences!
Hopefully that semi-clears up my position! :)
We had to make a Walmart run tonight for Katie and Sami! While at Walmart I saw this and smelt it! It smells delicious! So i got it! Can't wait to use it! :)

Day 30
Today I presented for the NCC/WCC position and received it! I am so excited to take on this opportunity next year! I will talk to you about it a little more tomorrow. Had a busy day and just needs to hit the hay! More from me tomorrow! PS. Stupid photo but oh well! Its a preview of what my bid looked like!
Day 29
Besides my one and only class today, as you can see I went to Beauty and the Beast. The production of the play was fantastic. At first I was kind of not thrilled to go but after going I knew that it was worth it! So if you have the chance to see it in Appleton I recommend it. It made me want to be involved in broadway and just travel. But anyways that was about it!

Day 28
Went to all my classes today like normal. Really enjoyed my design methods class today! Even though it is at 8:10 in the morning I still really enjoy that class. We are making chairs out of cardboard and glue only! And then we have to sit on it. Hopefully it will work out! :)
Then in human bio I learned more about the heart and how it functions. It is a pretty boring class but I made it threw it!
I really enjoy sociology too! I really enjoy the concept and the way of thinking of things differently. It is a very interesting class.
After all my classes were done I came back and worked on some homework! After doing homework for a while and my roomies came home and we cooked dinner and did some cleaning. A nice way of bonding! Plus then I ended up going on the culvers bus for a program that Phase 2 was doing! The picture is a pic of my friend Emily! It was an interesting time! :) Here she is --->

Day 26
Today we were still in Madison hanging with Sarah, Heba, and Kabao! It was a blast. Went to state street again and did a little shopping. Then we went out to eat with Sarah's parents. Just a chill day. We left later after grabbing a quick jamba juice and headed back to green bay. We drove back just in time to get to gbnights! And performing tonight was Thompson Square! They were good but country isn't my favorite. But I got their autograph and got pictures with them! :) Over all great day! :)
Day 25
Sorry for not updating this yesterday I was a little busy with classes and then going to Madison for my friend Heba and Kabao's Birthdays! It was super fun! We got down their and hung out with Sarah and just chilled! Saw some of the people I know in Chadbourne! Then that night we went over to Ashley's place and played super nintendo late! It was a bunch of fun! But my picture is of the capital because it was super awesome to see it again! :)

Day 24
If you guys read yesterdays blog you knew that I had a paper due today, and that I had a conference with my teacher on that paper. I was pretty confident on it after having my friend proofread it and after I worked long and hard on it. Well turns out that my paper needs more work! She said it was a good start but needs work. Luckily, it is a first draft and I have two more chances to improve it. Sometimes it upsetting when you think that what you wrote was good and then you hear it needs work. But it also keeps you motivated to work harder to impress the teacher and do good. I am spending tons of money on this education so I need to get whats best out of it.
Other than that I did go to a free concert on campus. The people performing were Verona Grove! They were actually really good!
Good Night Everyone! :)

Day 23
Snow, snow and more snow! Just when you thought spring was going to be here, mother nature dumps about 12 inches of snow on me! Haha Thanks! With all the snow on the ground the roads were super icy and snowy so many classes were canceled. Such as Art, Sociology, and History. Three out of Four of my classes were canceled. With the extra time I was able to spend more time writing my english paper that is due tomorrow. I finished it and I feel pretty confident about it! Lets hope in my meeting with my professor tomorrow that she agrees with me! :)
Guess what I get to do tomorrow when the snow stops!?!?! Dig my car out of 12 inches of snow! Good thing I have time to do it tomorrow before they plow! :D
Due to all the snow I was a little worried about my Dad going out to Texas. I ended up calling him tonight and he was in Salt Lake City! Haha a little different direction then normal, but I am guessing he will make it there now. At least what I know they are not getting hit by snow there. I hope he has an amazing time there! :)
So other than going to human biology and writing my paper today, I made a cake with my friend! We made the cake for her and Tom's Birthday on Thursday and Friday! Chocolate Cake Tomorrow! :)
Lastly, my last couple of post have been kind of lame, so I am sorry for sounding so down. I got to the point where my blog was getting a little boring. Sometimes it is just a hard thing to do even though really it only takes a second. So once again I apologize on my boring bog posts! I am going to try and change it up a little bit more!

Day 22
No classes today! The one class I had today was not in session, so that meant I had no class. So I got to sleep in. And since it pretty much was blizzarding out, it was nice not having to leave! So basically all I have to say is that I know I live in Wisconsin but it does not need to snow in spring. We have about 5-8 inches of wet heavy snow out there! And it is thundering and lightning while snowing! CRAZY! P to the S sorry for the crappy photo!

Day 21
So not much is new today. First day of classes after spring break so a little rough. I was really tired but I still made it through the day! But something very important to me is my application process for NCC/WCC! So today and yesterday I worked hard on my bid, or a "paper" of why I deserve and qualify for the position. The theme of my bid is juggling NCC/WCC so with that in mind here is a picture of my juggling cubes. And yes I can juggle!

Day 20
Interesting fact about me!
So if you did not know that I kind of have an obsession with socks. Not white socks but colored socks! I love them! Whenever I get the chance to get a new pair I go for it. I love the warm new feeling of new socks. Well now you know an interesting fact about me! :)
Ps what is shown here is only about half of what I have!

Day 19
Back to GB! An interesting trip back I must say. First within 15 mins of leaving my house I find a stray dog on the side of the highway. Of course I could not leave it there because it probably would of got hit. So I pulled over my car and slowly approached the dog. It was a little scared at first but then I let it sniff my hand and he was fine then. Shortly after I had him in my hands I called the number on his tag and the owners came and picked him up! Yay for saving a dog!
Second, I get into GB and I see a dead animal on the side of the road. It is a possum and I felt bad for it. I knew that possums lived in wisconsin but I had never actually saw one in the wild. So to see my first one dead on the side of the road was super sad. But who knows he could of been playing fake dead.
Thirdly, while walking up to my room I only saw about 158 dead flies in the stair well and was pretty much grossed out.
But now I am back to my other home wand the only way to get ahold of the people back home is by computer or cellphone! Or I guess mail too!

Day 18
As most of you who read my blog know that I do update my blog on time, unlike my roommate Cory. Anyways, today I get a message from my friend telling me that its a foul that I didn't actually blog yesterday and just said a message. So today I guess I owe a better blog.
Other than my usually sitting home, sleeping, and watching television. My new favorite television show is Skins. I started watching the American one on MTV and it was good but then I found the British skins. That show is even better. I mean sometimes it is hard to understand them with their British accents and the fuzzy quality of the movies online but other than that they are really good.
Also I did finally go rollerblading. I wanted to go rollerblading everyday since I have been home and today was that day!
Back to GB tomorrow!
Well I hope that this blog made up for yesterday! :)

Day 16
Friends! You would be lost without them, or even more lost with them! You have got to be thankful for all those great people who have influenced your life. Today I realized how much I missed my friends from back home! I would like to thank Ercia and Justen (shown above) and Kay and Kolten for a FUN time at the local park. Oh how I miss going to the park and just chilling with friends. I don't think you truly miss you friends until you hang out with them again. After hanging with them I realized how much I miss them. Plus I miss parks. Even though the park was snow covered, it was still fun. Freezing, wet shoes, and plenty of laughs!
Peace. Love. Friends! :)

Day 15
Today, like every Tuesday, is my day of watching television shows. It all starts out with Glee. If you have not seen Glee then you need to stop reading here and start at the next paragraph. Lets just say that Glee started out with the Warblers singing Misery by Maroon 5. It was a very bold great start to show. The show was all about singing original songs and how great songs come from inner experiences and feelings. I love Quinn was being a bully to Rachel I actually felt bad for Rachel.
Bullying is not an acceptable act. The One you just called fat? She has been starving herself and she has lost over 30lbs. The One you just called stupid? He has a learning disability and studies over 4hrs a night. The One you just called ugly? Sh spends hours putting makeup on hoping people will like her.
Instead of saying those negative comments towards others, keep them to yourself. Think about what you are saying and realize that saying anything negative won't help either one of you. You may feel better about yourself at first but then that feeling goes away. So don't be a bully.
Other than watching Glee I watched my usual Raising Hope, and My Life as Liz! They were also GREAT!

Day 14
Today I ended up going to Rhinelander for something to do. I got my haircut, went shopping, and hung with my mom. It was a nice relaxing day. after returning home it was nice to be able to hang with my good friend Claire. We ended up going to a local coffee shop and just talking, typical thing to do in such a small town. It was really nice being able to see her since I haven't seen her since school started. A nice way to catch up on things. While talking I realized how boring a small town can be. If I didn't have as many great friends in my town I would be bored. They help me at least semi-occupy my life. Stop (like the stop sign above) and think about your friends and appreciate them! :)
Sunday, March 13, 2011
Day 13
Relaxation. Everyone needs relaxation to be a daily thing. So thats what I did today, absolutely nothing but watching television, hanging with family and just eating! haha. Like I mentioned before the food that I missed the most after going away to college was popcorn. So my picture represents POPCORN! :) Other than relaxing I did eventually give my good old stinky dog a bath. As usual he did not like it but at least now he smells good! :)

Day 12
You know the saying bad things come in three's. Well I honestly think that happens. Let me explain by starting with my morning. This morning I wake up and one, of my five fish, died. His name was DreDre and he was named after me. And his partner Heba (the fish) is sick too. I hope she doesn't die. :( Then while packing up my car to head home I drop my cellphone on he pavement and it falls apart. Thirdly and by far the worst, on my way home from college, MY TIRE POPS! Half way between college and my hometown. Scariest moment ever. Thankfully Sami was there to put on my spare tire.
Basically, if you happen to be having a bad day try to think of the positives, even though it may be hard. The positive of my day would be, enjoying a large bowl of popcorn and watching tv. Oh how I missed popcorn.

Day 11
Spring Break is here!!!! YAY!
Well minus me failing my human biology exam today, my day has been great! I spent the last day before spring break with my good friend Heba. After classes today we went off to the mall to shop. The funny thing is, when we were shopping we only ended up getting one thing. I didn't get anything, and I love shopping! :) After we went shopping we went to eat and headed back to campus. Once arriving back on campus we took Heba's Christmas ornament and hung it on a tree. This was one thing we finished off our bucket list! The reason behind us placing her ornament on the tree is because she has never been able to decorate a tree before. So we decorated a random tree today! Another thing our bucket list would be going to a woman's basketball game. That was also interesting. Now its time to wind down for the night, pack, and just chill with Heba and Rosa!

Day 10
Tonight I watched the Appleton North High School Theater and Music Department perform Phantom of the Opera. And it was PHENOMENAL. This was the first time that I have ever seen any production of Phantom of the Opera and it lived up to the hype. The role of Phantom was played by an amazing individual named Josh. Josh exceeded my expectations of Phantom in a high school role, from his astounding voice to his stunning actions. In addition to Josh's awesome performance, Christine, played by Emily, didn't disappoint me. With her true beauty I understood why there was a dispute of love between Phantom and Raoul. Her singing and actions were mesmerizing. Raoul, played by Andrew, also did an amazing job in the production. Andrew stayed strong through the play even when Phantom wanted to steal Christine right away. In addition to all the great work from the actors, the stage, lighting, make-up, and costume crew set the mood of the play. The props and stunts were amazing for any high school production I have ever seen. So if you get the time to catch this show this weekend I HIGHLY recommend it.
I would like to thank Sammi Stelzl for taking me to this event.
Peace Out!
Andrew Haugen :)

Day 9
Show one's inner self. At times one may find it hard to let one's self shine through, but do it anyways. Life is too short for one to always worry about what others think. Don't hold back. If someone wants to go to school wearing the most "ridiculous" outfit you have ever seen. Embrace them. They have the courage to stand out in front of others without caring of what others think. Be who you are.
Either way I don't really care. I kind of embrace it. And on top of it, it gives my friend Heba and I something to laugh about later. We even ended up making buttons telling people it is alright for one to stare. Its our way of egging them on.
Peace Out! :)
Tuesday, March 8, 2011
Day 8
Japanda! Japanda! Meh...
Today my roommate Cory and I were inspired by good old Jersey Shore. The one episode that we are referencing would be the one were they take Crocadilly from Snooki and hang him over the side of the building. After they do that Snooki returns home and freaks out when she notices that Crocadilly is missing. She screams out his name, hoping for an answer back. So while our roommate Chris was away at work we went into his room and stole Japanda! After we kidnapped him we tapped him to the ceiling and waited for Chris to return home. Hope Chris is ready for more pranks! :)
Other than that my day was pretty boring. Still lots of studying to do for mid terms this week.
Monday, March 7, 2011
Day 7
Study, study, study. That is what my day involved, four classes, a meeting with a professor, and then homework. There was not much time for socializing. AND on top of all this work I am EXHAUSTED! I don't know why but I just can't seem to keep my eyes OPEN!
Probably the one highlight of my day was watching Pleasantville with my roomies and some other amigos.
Well Peace Out! :)
Sunday, March 6, 2011
Day 6
Today was my good friend Sammi's Birthday! With that in mind, we headed over to Red Robin to celebrate it! Good ole' memories were created there. For example, our "high" waiter, or when Heba ate the last fry for our starving child in Africa, or when they sang Happy Birthday to Sammi!! So I would like to wish Sammi one last Happy Birthday! :)
After returning home, I had to take a quiz and study. BOO! But with the help of my roommates and of course Katie O, they interrupted my studies only for us to bake a SODA CAKE! It was pretty insane. We took multiple colors of food coloring and mixed them together, BUT not fully mix them. Just left them to have a swirl of many colors. Once it was done cooking in the microwave (didn't even know you could cook it in the microwave), we let it cool, frosted it, and chowed down on it. Got to love friends! :)
This day makes me thankful for the friends I have or will create in the future. There are so many people in my life who have helped influence me to be the best I can. I would like to take this time to thank them! So for those of you who read this, please make an effort to thank your friends around you. Sometimes they may need a reminder of how much you love them!
Love you <3!

Day 5
This BILL is bananas! B-A-N-A-N-A-S!!!
My day started out at 7:40am when I woke up to get ready to go to Madison! Cory and I got ready and picked up my bestest friend in the whole world, Heba. Off we went to protest Scott Walker's "Budget Repair" Bill! For those of you who haven't heard what this is all about (although that is highly unlikely), Governor Dropout is basically trying to screw over Wisconsin's Public Workers.
We arrived and the atmosphere was static with energy from the people around us. The first set of fellow protesters we met was a couple with a sign that said "Snotty Walker." We joined a march up to the Capitol, where the hum of the rallies could be heard from a mile away. We walked around the Capitol in the streets doing chants, and eventually found our way into the Capitol.
At the entrance, we were searched using Metal Detector Wands. We got in and listened to a lot of people speak their minds. Even my friend Heba spoke in front of everyone! We saw so many famous people today like, Buffalo Beast, Michael Moore, and a famous singer, and of course Abe Lincoln!
After all this protesting we ended the day with some lunch/dinner and some good old book searches in the library! The best part of College Library in Madison is the sketch elevators! If you want a thrill use the elevator (but I don't recommend it, it could be a life or death situation).
Show me what democracy looks like? This is what democracy looks like!

Day 4
So with the day of peace in mind I tried my hardest to be more peaceful than normal. I tend to be a peaceful person but sometimes I pick fun at my friends. They always know I am joking, at least I hope so, but sometimes I feel like my words aren't peaceful. I strive to be more like my hero, Gandhi!
Peace out!

Day 3
So today was pretty chill. Spent most the day either sleeping or watching shows on my computer. The highlight of my day was probably when we cut Cory's hair. The best part of cutting his hair was that the shaver wouldn't stayed charged. We eventually had to do one cut at a time because that's all the shaver could stand. Lets hope the project of cutting his hair will finish! Otherwise look out world for the,
HOT MESS!

Day 2
So as you can see, my shirt says, "Can I Kiss You?" For those of you that don't know what this shirt is about, I will tell you! Yesterday, UWGB put on a program focusing on making sure you ask before you do. One shouldn't always assume that someone wants a kiss. The speaker also told us a story about his sister getting raped. I would like to let everyone know that if anyone ever needs to talk about anything, my door is open. He was there for his sister in times of need, and I can be there for you. If you were wondering why I mentioned this today and not yesterday, that was because yesterday was more of an introduction.
Secondly, tonight I participated in another program called, "Ladies Night Out." You may ask why I was at LADIES Night Out. Well you see there was CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN, so of course I would go! And plus it wasn't just for ladies, men were invited too. (Even though there was pretty much only ladies) Anyways a comedian came to this program. Typically I am not fond of comedians, but she was really good! Her name is Tracy Ashley, so look her up!
